Exactly! That used to be how all apps were designed. I miss it! I think it looked way better than any minimalist stuff.

20) Subaru and Subaru by Shuichi Shigeno

This ones not for vote, just promoting a new series. I am not a fan of Initial D, cars do nothing for me, so I am not the target audience! But it did not strike me. The realistic backgrounds and cars clash with the stylized character art. Might be your thing

19) Under Ninja by Kengo Hanazawa

Honestly? I am unintrigued. Hanazawa's work has always seemingly been fantasies for boring dudes who waste their lives, and this seems no different. I Am A Hero had a pedophilic plotline. This one has an adult dressing as a high schooler. Dont like that

18) Into The Dark by Anri Morikuma

A story with a lot of potential, but feels a bit out of place. Seems shounen-y to me, but may count as Seinen because of the gore! It does feel like the Manga-ka just wanted to draw lots of gore and monsters. Theres some possibility as a series tho!

17) Fasciation by Ouga

A very interesting concept for story, great art, but the acting seems a little off. Its a decent story, I just dont feel the weight of the emotions of the characters! It has potential but its also just not quite there for me! I hope chapter two is better if it gets picked up.

16) Godmother by Rin Shimokawa

By FAR my favorite in this batch! Gorgeous art, incredible concept, lovely characters! Theres a lot of incredible expressive panels in this. I strongly recommend reading it, and voting if you like it!! At the very least I will follow the artist.

15) Project Metalla by Yukito Iwai

My least favorite series here. Seems directly derivative of Cyberpunk, and the main character is named Daniel Martinez, seemingly just four letters off from the Edgerunner protag. Its hard to find a new idea in here. The arts okay, but nothing spectacular.

14) Pregnant by Denchi Matsumoto and Keita Nishijima

A horror manga based around pregnancy, a cops unborn child is seemingly possessed by a devil commanding him to kill people. A lot of good horror imagery, but I dont know if it quite grabs me. Maybe the second chapter can? Its got potential!

13) The Graveyard Shift by Yoshimi Sato

Honestly I loved this! A horror comedy about an ancient warrior ghost who ends up tied to a robot girl who used to be a soldier but now picks up trash. Lots of good gags and incredible art, with fun concepts! I hope this gets a full series very much!!
November 9, 2025 at 8:21 PM
12) Protocol Ryugu by Daisaku Tsuru.

A fascinating sci-fi manga with too many ideas to fit within its pages! A lot of really interesting stuff, but seems overburdened by its own thoughts with very little to ground it for readers. I would love to see another series from this manga-ka, but this? pass

11) Still You by Kami Nishio

A sweet BL tale of teenage angst, two boys whove drifted apart due to a time they kissed three years ago, and the girl one of them dated half-assedly to feel normal. Theres a lot of emotion in this one, and Id love to see where it goes! I hope they can figure things out

10) Kikikaikai by Kyuri Yamada.

Honestly? Mid. It feels like someone put several popular shounen manga into a blender, drank the slurry, and puked up this imitation. The characters dont really shine in their own right, the monster is meh, the only potential is in the mc's powers being barrier-based

9) The Knight of Blasphemy by Ray Kindo

A story with a lot of potential, but also potential for failure. Its about a religious war, with our main character trying to find a third way to resolve the war, not in favor of either faction. Its well made, but I'm curious exactly how the solution comes.

8) The Silent Forest by Masaaki Nakayama.

Another short not eligible for voting, this one in the horror genre! Its a solidly scary period horror one-shot, with some serious corpse art. (Cw for dead children!) I really enjoyed it, even if it was just a short spooky story!
November 9, 2025 at 7:39 PM
7) The Journey of a Dark Elf with Fading Powers by Daisuke Itabashi

One of my favorites in this batch, with instantly memorable characters and gorgeous art, not to mention a compelling concept! Feels in the same vein as Frieren but still quite different. Definitely worth a read and probably vote!
November 9, 2025 at 7:23 PM
6) Me and Bob Dylan (And My Father) by Shuzo Oshimi

Not up for vote, just a short by Oshimi-sensei! Very emotional story of him and his father and how they bonded over Bob Dylan's music. Definitely worth a read, and the sketchy art really conveys the heart put into it!!
November 9, 2025 at 7:16 PM
5) Is My Love Strange? by Hikari Azuma

An intriguing manga about a girl who feels no attraction to anyone...except stuffed animals! And a person who comes to school in a full plush outfit. A unique romance story I'd love to see more of, but admittedly weak art. I will definitely follow the creator!
November 9, 2025 at 7:04 PM
4) GOUMA The Blade That Slaughters Gods by Hiroki Ishizawa.

Some incredibly photorealistic art, with some fascinating designs, and basically no writing to speak of. This manga-ka makes fight scenes look easy, but all the writing is just generic foghting setup. Love the tengu design though!
November 9, 2025 at 6:58 PM
3) To Dusk and Twilight by Robico

A story about a vampire girl and a depressed hitman. Solid art, memorable characters, a splash of violence and comedy. I could see this one being an interesting series! Its not my sort of series, but if you like this sort of story you might be into it!
