This idea about 2016 you are expressing legit needs to die as it not relevant to understanding why 2016 happened.

Indeed. You are one of the people responsible for this being true. You've done good work in recent years, but I've still never seen you repent for you lies & exaggerations back in 2016.

However, it is still the case that Sanders lost the 2016 primary because Dem voters didn't want him--particularly black & Latino voters. And in 2016, for the most part, the higher the voter turnout, the worse Sanders did (unless the state was very white).

One thing I would agree on about this essay is the following about how the supers were reported:

As general rule, the easier it was in 2016 for people in state to vote & the higher the voter turnout, the worse Sanders did. Hence why 2016 having a higher number of caucuses than in 2008 or 2020 contributed to Sanders' success

2016 was a pretty ordinary post-1972 Democratic primary and indeed in terms of it being pledged delegates who were awarded by mass participation in a contested primary.

The ahistorical nature of this essay is also really silly. The modern presidential primary system only goes back to the 1970s & the story of the primary process before & after the mi-70s is the story of the whole process becoming MORE responsive to the voters. Like just look at what happened in 72

If I am supposed to believe this as a fair criticism, then the NE & WA caucuses awarding so many more pledged delegates to Sanders than Hillary is a serious problem

And why is that? Americans keep building and wanting bigger and bigger houses!
November 16, 2025 at 5:21 PM
some cities absolutely have true housing crises, no question. But Americans also keep wanting more and bigger & that’s a problem.

It's not just Devereaux who thinks that the Rome at its height was better for the masses that what came before or what came after. To be fair, eventually western Europe did climb up & painting all of the medieval period as inferior to Rome is wrong, but the first couple centuries weren't great!

Well… the case for Platner still having a chance is VA & Jay Jones’ victory. I’m admittedly more disturbed by Platner’s tattoo than Jones’ texts, but would most voters feel that way??? No idea!

I quite like this one. The short story about the Tau is great! Well written and present the Tau the way I find most interesting.

Things can change once people pay more attention. Remember the following happened this year in the NYC primary:
