This appears to have been written after the affair with RFK Jr., and… well, too many obvious jokes suggest themselves.

I’ve played about ten runs so far, and only two of them have felt uneventful or anticlimactic. The rest have single-handedly redeemed the phrase “emergent storytelling” and delivered it from the BS marketing speak that it usually is. The game is a water cooler talk machine.

The image of more and more players emerging from the trees was truly hair-raising. Any one of them could have killed their peers and set off a chain reaction of death. But they didn’t, and the release of that tension— which no one was aware of —was… I dunno, like concentrated essence of the Cold War

Watched a vid of a bunch of ppl teaming up to take down a major boss, and when it finally went down there was this moment where everyone broke the treeline to rush the corpse and it revealed just how many people had been working together. Dozens in concert, but none thought it was more than 3 or 4.

*Arc Raiders has entered the chat. This feels like what Destiny was promising to be way back in that first E3 demo. Stuff happening in this game that’s somehow never been done before.

That Super Bowl trailer was legit great (thanks to Bill Withers).

I got super lucky with the Daily Doubles this week. Definitely won’t be like this with any regularity.

I still haven't finished it, only just made it to East Fort Knot, but I'm doing *everything.* Haven't enjoyed an open world game this much in a long time.

Yeah, the narrative justifications for upholding the whole roguelike deal are not super convincing this time around. My only quibble with it.
