Meanwhile our Melbourne weekend was a lot of fun. We met Isabelle at the aquarium, saw the Beetlejuice Musical, and even went to Monopoly Dreams. Pretty packed weekend.

So we went on a weekend holiday to Melbourne. Lorenz worried that Ned wasn't well when we left. I ask the cat sitter to check on him and she sent this photo. Note dear followers, Ned was perfectly fine in the end... he just wanted to stay in bed so Hudson wouldn't take the warm spot.

Tell us your views on the proposed principles themselves.: The bill is unnecessary. It seeks to bind to principles that don't correctly identify the difference between rights and liberties, it eschews good law-making processes and stewardship in favour of trying to lock regulators into a narrow set of principles that appear to be libertarian in focus. New Zealand voters tend to not lean libertarian and it is inappropriate to have such a clear political bias entrenched into law, especially when it is not reflective of a majority of New Zealanders. The lack of consideration to contractual obligations that the government has to the Treaty of Waitangi is also noticeable. This means that if a government were to be bound to these principles and followed through on them, there could be potential for creating a constitutional crisis due to legal conflict. While the bill does make some light mention as to when to ignore individual property rights, it tends to contradict itself, which creates a number of gaps that will likely lead to a lot of court cases to try and set precedent. Again, this seems to be creating a law for the sake of law rather than good law-making. Given that this bill has been proposed four times now and has been rejected three times, it seems clear that there is neither the interest or the will for such a bill. The stated goal of providing quality regulation and sane procedure doesn't seem to hold true given that the current systems in place have been working for most New Zealanders.

Hudson is waiting to be let into Lorenz’s bedroom. He politely mews and then sits to wait. Because of Lorenz’s allergies room access is controlled especially when Hudson is shedding.

Without a doubt! The highlight of our trip to Seattle was Mt Rainier National Park. Such a beautiful place to visit.
