Democracy requires an educated population and an independent press, not MAGA and Postmedia. We are doomed unless we fix this. Nonpartisan centrist living in the Comox Valley.
Canada needs to shield ourselves from the US as much as possible as quickly as possible, before it implodes into civil war.
Because America is spiraling downwards at a terrifying rate.
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

I’ve worked with a lot of journalists. Mostly they’re underpaid, overworked and trying their best.
Politicians like Trump and Poilievre who denigrate them do so because they don’t want legitimate journalism - they want sycophantic propaganda like Fox, Rebel News and Western Standard.
I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

As a veteran (21 years Regular CF) I’m disgusted anyone would disrupt a Remembrance Day ceremony.
As a communications professional I’m stunned by anyone thinking this is a good strategy.
Never do this, and never protest at a politician’s home or go after their family.
It makes you look horrible.

Canada’s current laws allow reasonable, commensurate force to protect one’s home, family and assets. Let’s leave it that way.

Public service reductions should have been much deeper and could have been achieved through attrition and ending terms and casuals.

Something has to give in the BC Conservatives, and it’s either going to be the rest of the moderates in the party, or Rustad.
A party with a leader that allowed the explicit venom, racism and bigotry of Brent Chapman and many others was never going to be a successful “big tent” party.

The Trump regime is turning America into a lot of things: dictatorship, kleptocracy, idiocracy, but also a Christian theocracy.
Here in Canada, half of us are non-Christian (in my town 70% of us are).
It’s crucial for democracy that Canada doesn’t follow the USA down the road to theocracy.
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus.
