Feels hard to talk about the good things in a landscape of hardships but being able to buy this cabin in the forest on two acres of land in a township of 100 people is such a complete dream come true that I still can’t believe it’s real.

I also have this piece I love that combines Florence + the Machine lyrics with this portrait made by an artist with three names that I absolutely can’t think of and have been searching for for 40 minutes now; he’s dressed as Billie Holiday.

I got my Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment notice so I thought I’d shared what a 2.8% COLA looks like for me now that I live on SSDI.

My 2025 benefit amount before Medicare premiums is $2153/month.

My 2026 benefit amount will be $2212.90/month before premiums.

In February we’ll have had Iris for 9 of her 11+ years of life and my partner has her name tattooed over his eyebrow. She’s our best girl and she always seems to get sick on weekends when the regular vet is not open.

Hi all. I’m at the emergency vet with my old girl Iris this morning and I know that’s going to cost me at least half my SSDI check that just came Friday no matter what the issue is.
