Yes, indeed: oceans, seas, vast lakes and mighty rivers, but perhaps the most relevant to yap about is that once, the valley in which Keaning Abbey and the Faewood sit was once a huge tidal river (rather than the modest freshwater one that now flows through it)

I had the good fortune of meeting Terry Pratchett at a convention in the 1990s, he was genuinely a lovely guy, who would talk to everyone.
I was around 13 at the time and had read the Nome trilogy.
I was also lucky enough to meet Richard Carpenter, another person who was such a nice man.

I think my favourite insult I've ever recieved was when I was working in a pub in Hammersmith and was off duty wearing a Monk T-shirt that said 'I'm Monk-Ish'... I stepped in because of a drunk person acting a prat, he looked me up and down and said "you're just a Monkfish" and left...

i just finished my Urban Fantasy Tech-Noir Thriller, The Shadows Are No Place For Love. It's currently going out to beta readers. It took me 8 months to write and 2 months to edit. Not bad for ~98k words :)
