Rec’d by one of my fav slu profs! Also highly recommend if you’re a podcast guru like me. I have listened to now three Ethan Kross segments on Rich Roll & Slight Change Of Plans. Not only interesting emotion research, but genuine novel regulation tools introduced as well.

Extremely sad day today as tornado and hail damage ripped apart our city & neighborhood leaving devastating damage and destruction in it’s path. Thankful that friends, Ripley, and myself are safe and many prayers for Forest Park, UCity, Clayton, and Greater St. Louis residents tonight. #stltornado

One of the most emotional nights I’ve had in awhile—Severin Award night with the Dept. of Psychology at SLU.

Endless great things I could say about what an impact everyone at SLU has had on me, but not enough characters to post it here. Instead here’s a photo of my remarks! Feeling so blessed 🥹

Club-Student Organization President’s Celebration @ SLU. Sad to be leaving our Women’s Club Soccer team this year, but so proud of the club we have built these past 2 years. My experience has been beyond rewarding.

Excited to share the news that I received the Psi Chi Sayons Award tonight for the most outstanding undergraduate major. I feel so incredibly blessed to do what I love surrounded by amazing mentors, grad students, and peers in psych and neuro; this wouldn’t be possible without my amazing community!

Gave presentation to our lab undergrads today regarding my graduate school application experiences. I tried to nail in the key point that positive mentorship and selecting a good mentor is absolutely critical.

Was quite the process to get this figure created using code & AI, but it’s my fav slide!

Monday mornings and EEGs have one thing in common—both require a lot of patience to get past the noise before you find a clear signal! 🙃

Happy Birthday to my academic twin, @gallai.bsky.social!

Your kindness knows no bounds, and your friendship makes me a better person. There is nobody I’d rather listen to podcasts, be curious, try new foods, or be stuck in a lecture hall during a tornado with! Rips & I are forever grateful.

Didn’t we learn about homonyms in what? 3rd grade? Not only is this plain dumb, but these non-DEI terms also exist in science…

-Barrier: brain-blood barrier
-Bias: valence bias
-Diversity: genetic diversity
-Equity: equity of particle distributions in physics
-Cultural: bacteria/microbe culture

Grad school offers are getting rescinded, funding is vanishing, and hiring freezes are leaving researchers with nowhere to go. This isn’t about merit. Academia is in crisis, science deserves better. Read below, reflecting to cope… & feel free to share if this hits close to home for you.
