I have had enough of Telegram services run by unknown individuals to do the audio transcription task in my Telegram channels. Wrote one using my botlib, ffmpeg and whispher.cpp. May be useful for you as well, perhaps? github.com/antirez/whis... Transcription quality is WAY better.

When I first started interacting with the Nix ecosystem, the approach felt pedantic in the extreme, but issues like this slowly radicalize you into celebrating that aspect of Nix.

I would kill for some static types, though. The function signatures are brutally dependent on convention.

I have one thing patched out of "beans" by @hmans.dev :

The "beans prime" command tells the LLM to "Always" create a new bean for whatever it's doing.

Claude does not follow it religiously. But Codex does! 😂

So it even creates beans for committing and simple rule changes in AGENTS.md

Beans is now at my core dev workflow! <3

I start by letting an agent generate a detailed plan from my input and then i tell it: create beans for each Phase as epics and milestones with each Step as a task.

Yes please! Build this alternative!
I'm asking because I'm building an alternative to npmjs.com, including the admin ui piece

I have a working mvp, although of course it's very 🚧

if this is something you'd like to contribute to, and you've experienced any of these pain points, let me know - always more fun to build together! 🙏
🙋‍♂️ so ... for reasons:

I would love to know people's frustrations with:

- the current npmjs.com
- admin user flows on npm web ui (and cli, locally)

🙏

@kettanaito.com I remember that you had a talk some time ago about how to make pwa's right. Do you have a link for a talk recording, if one exits?

This is the best compliment one can get as an engineer in the age of ai, especially from someone who merges hundreds of PRs regularely in a mostly ai coded repo 🥹✨

i just put all my opencode data into sqlite

unsurprisingly it can query, filter, aggregate way better than it can when these were flat files

agents love databases and a filesystem is just the worst kind of database

Every day I dislike this .md TLD more.

1. it's a security issue - you think you load a markdown file but you load some random website
2. it confuses humans
3. it can confuses agents
4. and it constantly shows this "website preview" when editing any md related to agents 😩

Don’t use social media for DMs!

Redirect people to Signal or use Beeper/matrix for untrusted inboxes
Wild - I am in the UK for a short while (I don't live here) and lost access to my Bluesky messages thanks to UK regulation

I would need to give information to a third party just to see DMs

... and this is why I always have my trusty VPN subscription. Had to turn it on *just to read my messages*

I can totally see this being generated in real time. if you look at what Zed said they're moving onto next in their August fundraising announcement, they're not letting on much but I suspect they have a similar vision

That is mind blowing 🤯✨
Android now lets you enable a Linux development environment, with a built-in terminal app. So you know what that means? I can run Astro on my phone

I like this setting for VS Code from Ben Frain. JUST show the vertical line for the current indentation, not all of them

```
"workbench.colorCustomizations": {
"editorIndentGuide.background1": "#00000001",
"editorIndentGuide.activeBackground1": "#ff9900"
}
```

Yes, interesting thought. Support companies will go through the roof 😂 but maybe not, when ai does the support itself
Maybe the real value in software is now maintenance?
