There is no such thing as a “free car on benefits” - as some pundits frequently say. Every Motability car is leased at commercial rates with the lease deductible from enhanced mobility PIP at source. It’s a motor for your mobility - see what they did there - ‘Motability’
MOTABILITY IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE ENHANCED MOBILITY PIP. I get my electric wheelchair through this. To frame it as if people with 'mild' mental health problems or neurodivergency as being given free cars is both incorrect and dangerous #BBCLauraK

Shouting at the internet from a broom cupboard
After much consideration, I've decided that the problem with Liz Truss's new YouTube venture is Liz Truss.

She's got the charisma of a bin liner and speaks like a droning spin dryer on a quiet cycle.

I remember having real difficulty connecting with a key opinion leader in my field back in the day. They were rude and incredibly awkward. One of their assistants, with whom I had a good rapport, said ”Be nice, they’re old and they’ll be dead soon”
They were right.

I’m quite enjoying the 180 turn on a six pence from “you’ve wrecked the economy and created a black hole” to “there was no black hole and this is even worse”.

Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running. This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.

You can’t logically explain to someone who has already decided that Asylum seekers and refugees have been put up in the lap of luxury in 4* hotels why they have to take taxis when being frequently and apparently randomly moved from say Preston to Cardiff - so save your breath and move on #r4today

So I’m hearing the budget is really bad because Reeves is taxing working people more and breaking manifesto commitments. Reeves extended tax allowance freezes until 2030. I never heard so much consternation when the Tories extended allowance freezes from 2021-2028.Have I missed something?

I just want to put this out there - you don’t get a free car with Motability. You sacrifice qualifying mobility allowance from P.I.P. at source to lease a new car to help with your mobility. Motor - Mobility - see what they did there!

I’m no military strategist: the “Peace Plan” (aka Trump’s claim to a Nobel peace prize and make 💵 ) allows for a redeployment of Russian troops to Moldova and between there and Belarus engineer a future pincer movement into Ukraine - who will have a significantly reduced military #r4today

Positioning himself as a latter-day Churchill when the moment came and leadership was desperately needed, he showed us who he was...

And thousands died.
