Yea, it is. The history about the fabrics is a bit sad as the Dutch started to mass produce batik but Indonesians said no and they dumped it in Africa.

The people of Africa made it their own with stories for the patterns but its a shame a lot of the production now is still in Dutch hands.

He was a home birth but the midwife was there. I was a hospital birth. You can chose here but a professional needs to be present. Too big of a risk for both baby and mum even at present times.

I was talking to my husband about this and he started straight away that this is an American thing which I then informed him there are women in the Netherlands that don't even want a midwife near their birthday and he was shocked.

I was a bit fearful to try my hand at batik because I'm only half and the Netherlands left such an ugly mark on the country. The Indonesians have been nothing but kind and encouraging to me on my journey.

Really hate how here in the Netherlands some just pretend the colonisation was not that big.
