Old dude trying to stay in the loop.
We can do better. I still believe we will. Although I am not as sure about that as I once was. Kindness is not a weakness.
As for our house, we took time to ride out to Pensacola Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. It was (and still is) a beautiful day. This view taken from the promenade. People were out but it wasn't to busy today. It's said "If you're lucky enough to live near the beach, you're lucky enough." Works for me.

Proof that I was there. Jacksonville as seen from the Southbank Riverwalk. It's very hot but extremely beautiful out there today. Likely all I will do as it gets closer to the time for my friend to board his train.

Another glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico today (Sat May 31). These photos taken at section 33A of the Gulf National Seashore. I try not to get people in my pictures so don't be fooled, traffic is bumper to bumper getting in but there are 18 miles of beach to enjoy from Pensacola. Patients rewarded.

It's seems now it is just as important as it was back then. A Pride display at one of the local clubs as they kick off one of the larger Memorial Day Pride events, that will lead us into June, happening here in Pensacola. This much to the dismay of our local radical Christians and Republicans.

Olive oil has always been higher, I understand that. This is a brand I use and I am glad I didn't have to get any today. $27.99 for the 48oz size, $42.99 for the gallon size. Only in Donald's mind are grocery prices going down. You might say I don't need olive oil and I would slap you for saying it!

A glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico today (May 13th). The seaweed looks thick on shore here but the water was clean. This taken at East Beach, Pensacola. Lots of people out enjoying the beach today, I didn't stay long but anytime on the beach is time well spent. Perfect beach weather!

If you are able, get out on Saturday April 19th. One of our strengths is our numbers, and it's important they know we do outnumber them. Check the sites for more information.

While we knew that yesterday's race was a tough one something positive did come out of it. For the first time since the 60's more people voted for the Democratic party than the Republican party. Escambia County turned blue yesterday. Gives me hope for NW Florida -at the very least Pensacola.

My friend and I did our Civic duty and voted for Gay Valimont today (April 1st). It sure looks like a good turn out to me. Here's hoping we change things for the better.

A beautiful day on the Gulf of Mexico, East Beach from Pensacola. Lots of people out enjoying themselves, it's "on" season for us. Good to see folks out. 70 degrees and sunny and the Gulf is flat here.

Everyone Mark your calendar. Donate if you can, but vote when it's time. How awesome it will be to turn things around all because his cabinet picks changed the numbers in the House.

Hints of Spring here in Northwest Florida. I love our azaleas and this little scrappy bush always manages to start blooming first. In our crazy times it's good to have something remain reliable even if short lived.

A cloudy day over the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola bay. At 74 degrees it was nice enough for a walk in the park known as Bruce Beach.

We here in Florida have a special election coming April 1st. Irony about the actual day aside I know it feels as if nothing is going to change. But we can change things and we will. To do that we have to keep ourselves involved and Vote. I will do my part, I sincerely hope everyone else does theirs.

It's 22 degrees and sunny in Pensacola at this moment. Tomorrow we start to thaw out hopefully. Close to 8 inches of snow. Hope this doesn't happen again for another 100 years.

Historic times here in Pensacola Florida. As we look at record snowfall. We will have 6 inches before this storm passes. The last time it snowed was 1890 and then it was only 3 inches. Here at my house we are staying warm, safe and dry. Hopefully everyone else is as well.

I will have a few more to share, because this just never happens here. Snow day in Pensacola has been enjoyable and it's still snowing. Hopefully people will continue to stay off the roads. For us they are calling them impassable and considering this never happens I think that's a good call.

Another city view of Pensacola, Florida snow. It's been snowing for a couple of hours now. 28 years living here and this is the first time it's snowed. Wow.

In other news it's snowing in Florida. Not maybe snow, real snow! I share this photo because it is witness to my KIA's first snow cover. In a few days it will return to 60 degrees. I have lived here 28 years and never seen snow like this before. Snow all the way to the Gulf Coast.

I don't get to see my friend as much as I used to. She left a little gift for me today.💖

Not the best lighting but a fairly decent photo for the first day of the new year. We are safe, warm and dry.

A view of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico from the Gulf Islands National Seashore (section 33A from Pensacola). We have white sands instead of snow. And that very much works for me. 65 and sunny this Christmas Eve.

Feel good photo. Minnie enjoyed the sunshine and sand today at the park. I did as well.😀

Another view from Bruce Beach, Pensacola today. My background picture shows this area from a higher vantage point. It's a beautiful park we now have in downtown. Without a doubt one of my favorite places. It's an amazing day for us here in the 60's and sunny. Perfect!

I didn't go shopping yesterday, but I did put up a tree this year. I will be adding more bows because I can. It's a distraction for me but it's also something I enjoy doing. Christmas doesn't have the same meaning to me as it does for others. But I do enjoy the lights and decorations.
