every once in a while I will see people trying to claim that Ian Watson is actually a misunderstood genius or one of the best 40k authors who truly "gets" the setting
and every time I wonder if they were reading the same Space Marine that I was reading.

the assignment I'm working on RN is basically the perfect storm of being a struggle:
-not due until Sunday but involved enough that I have to start now
-comes at the end of the semester with vacation starting next week
-really difficult
-open-ended with vague guidelines and grading criteria

I think Lord Mevikir is my favorite side character in Black Ice.
An absolute joy to write and I like his more old-school vibes.

one of the best things for my art recently has been starting to spend 1.5+ hrs on public transit daily.
You sit there, listen to music, and pay attention to the way people's clothes crease as they sit, how light hits different hair colors and textures and styles, different facial expressions...
