I mean, no ‘external’ actors, however defined, should be perverting our democracy, but what pro-Russia policies that have been enacted as a result of this supposed ‘influence’ can these people point to? Now try that little thought experiment with the US, Israel or various corporations.

Has Russia, for example, lobbied our government to get peaceful British citizens tried under terrorism legislation (seriously damaging our free speech and protest rights) or is that another actor that perhaps we should put our weight behind investigating?

Why are people calling for enquiries into Russian influence on UK politics when by far the biggest malign foreign influencers with an abundance of evidence are the Usa and Israel?
