This kind of applies to real life too, I just realized. If a stranger comes up to me while I’m doing errands or something and just says “hey what’s up!”, you will see the little loading pinwheel above my head because I have nothing to work with to continue the conversation.
I'm not trying to dunk down on people who want to try and reach out and be social, but I find the concept of "Just talk" somewhat lacking.
Call me old fashioned, but a simple introduction goes a long way. I stead of just going "Hi" or "Hello", try think of what you want.
