you see it in action in his horror game streams, dying and then being like "okay i should memorize the path i need to take this time." he's always iterating!!

i was always interested in biology, but i was never able to get obsessed with it until i got to design experiments that i *actually* didn't know the outcome of, but wanted to! you spend so much time in school trying to get to the predetermined Right Answer, but there's joy in discovery and utility.

i've never been able to memorize things when i don't understand why i should know them. it seems to me like he needs to be able to play around with a concept and see an effect from it, which is not emphasized in schools. it's why he's so good at physical stuff - inherent experimentation!

i think you're right that he just needs a hook, like something that makes it approachable/gives him an entry point? he has all kinds of semi-obscure knowledge, like atmospheric oxygen's effect on insect size or physics concepts that he seems to understand intuitively.

it's definitely impressive to me that he even knows how to deploy something like that, esp as a school hater! i am a school enjoyer and could not tell you all the obscure grammar rules i break or words i hyphenate when they should be separate 😮‍💨
