i filled the bird bath and feeders and i'm running the soaker bc our poor lemon tree is parched, and the birds are having such a good time 🥲 here's a cardinal having a bath, and earlier a few of them were splashing around in the little puddle on the path 😭😭 so cute

good idea! i keep up with the bird bath but i've been meaning for a while to make some kind of water dish for the insects and lizards and such - something full of little pebbles so it's more accessible for them. the mud daubers and lizards always get so excited when i turn on the hose when it's dry!

told my bf about the bees and he immediately went out there and tried to get one to drink water off of his finger so at least one of us is excited lol (he was unsuccessful - rejected by potential bee friend 😔)

the bee situation is getting intense 😅 every time i'm out there watering the venus flytraps there's a bunch of bees hovering around me buzzing! so far they've left me alone, and i try to stay very calm and not disturb them, but i'm so conditioned to be like "get OUT of the cloud of bees" lmao

every day recently when i go out to water the pitcher plant, there's at least one honeybee on it? (look at the side of the pot, toward the left.) earlier today there were three?? my guess is they're thirsty and sucking the water from the sphagnum moss, but i wonder if they're attracted to a scent?

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.
