Yeah I agree - Chicago is notoriously inexpensive to run, which is rare on Broadway. I do think Wicked and TLK will be around for a while longer, but financially theyre more likely to be closed

I think art can be the most fulfilling when it's made purely for fun and self expression!

In my opinion, I think Chicago may actually be the show that outlasts them all - the show is cheapest to run, refreshes the cast regularly, and the theater owners desperately want it to keep running (no one else is interested in that space). In a decade, I'm curious to see if I'll be right

Wicked is the second-highest grossing musical in Broadway history. The recent movies have boosted ticket sales, though the show has done well for 20 yrs. Wicked plays in the largest Broadway theater, the Gershwin, and yet it doesnt struggle to maintain capacity. It'll last as long as seats fill

The Lion King has grossed billions of dollars. TLK is the highest-grossing musical in Broadway history. It's a staple show for families and tourists. It grosses over 1 million $/week. Even with the expense to run such a large production, TLK has proven its staying power
