TRUTH. I love that quote, it makes so much sense. Bc theoretically you can work it forever, but you just have to choose a moment in time to remain.

Perfect! I'm looking for some short end-of-year reads.

It's so short too!
November 16, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Lol I missed that one somehow. I have to rectify it.
November 16, 2025 at 10:51 PM
You get it then! And I love this analogously because I think most people would never say "sing for yourself" and yet with writing...
November 16, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Yes! I think this one just nettles me more than others bc I thought I'd be better at it sooner. 🫠

But yeah I've never wanted to use AI. I want to do it MYSELF.

I rarely enjoy childhood narratives outside of horror, but maybe I need to try more. I just spent so many years in YA, I think I'm a bit over that particular style (with exceptions).

Oh lol that's bc I'm thinking of WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED AT THE CASTLE. V different. This one is new to me!
November 16, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Yes, it's one of those really tricky things! I'm always reluctant to read them bc it can go so badly, but it's great when it's done with care.

I'm writing an 18yo so not super young but still needs to have an adultier voice.

OH I didn't know ICTC was one

And your trad stuff is gorgeous! Digital just feels SO DIFFERENT! I am always wildly impressed by people who are excellent at both.

For now, I practice my little digital doodles and try to remember I'm learning.
November 16, 2025 at 10:14 PM
yeah that's the worst time. writing is fun, post-writing pre-pub is...tragic
November 16, 2025 at 10:06 PM
OMG this is what I get for watching too much football and never checking Netflix. You are a wizard.
November 16, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Lol he does go downhill a little. But you've got something there, and I think it's probably why Frankenstein has stuck with so many writers-as-readers.

I just went for the first time. It was fun, but my parents kept commenting on how EVERYTHING is so much pricier than it used to be (accounting for inflation, blah blah). You can't expect people to spend $200 on dinner and THEN gamble.
November 16, 2025 at 10:01 PM
I need to find it somewhere! I feel so out of the loop
November 16, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Agreed! Writing stories just for myself is kind of lonely and boring
