In a similar vein, who do you think are the adult horror authors to watch out for right now?
What 2025 #horror (trad or small press) should I make sure to read?

I have a full PDF of the Enter Here anthology for proofreading.

Be jealous.

Okay #querying question. I'm querying right now (I've had an agent in the past, looking for a new agent) and I have a pretty long backlist behind me.

Is it worth it to work on another full novel, or does it make more sense to work on a bunch of different pitches and switch gears if things look bad?

Thinking up horror novel ideas.

@mstevensonbooks.bsky.social told me they sound too horrifying for her to read (complimentary) so I think I'm on the right track. 🥰

Anniversary countdown day 4 - the characters

When I sent this to betas, four people send me the same meme when reading - the Brooklyn 99 Rosa and puppy one. Sadly, a lot of things do happen to them!

I'm 19 plot points into Prophet, my new #horror novel.

- it's set in 1994 in a small town near Cary, Illinois
- it's the final gasps of the Satanic Panic
- it's all about mental illness, not as a flaw OR superpower, just is
- it's queer!

Being someone who likes the enemies to lovers trope, you catch a lot of strays from "well-meaning" people.

Just let people enjoy things...

I can explain LLMs in my sleep!

Apparently. I literally had a dream where I was explaining to my grad school friends why I hate genAI and most of my grad school turned on me and it became a rebellion.

Wut.

1700 words today on the plane and in the airport.

I did literally write "So-and-so finally got their shit together and...etc." but whatever it's going forward.

I hate the word "popcorn" to describe genre fiction on the more commercial side.

It feels so infantilizing.
