Probably doesn’t matter but, I remember it went: Floppy disk for soft plastic, hard disk for hard plastic format, CD for CD-ROM. All three co-existed in 1990-1993 at least, depending on home/school/work combo.

I did not grow up with cassettes as a computer medium.

Thanks for this. Super relevant rn.

And it has broken me in an unexpected way. A few minutes ago it never occurred to me that poetry could be poison.

I had it categorized as beauty, so the connection was never made this weekend. Never would have occurred to me in a hundred years.

Thanks!

See, merely by seeing to engage with Epstein, you can be seen as part of the tribe that tried to rehabilitate Epstein.

Shrieks of Class Warfare will work on the conditioned, sure, but not on most the technocratic / creative clusters and their neighbours.

Neat quirk: sometimes there’s an expectation that elites, the people who decide things, have merit or capability or capacity or some kind of altruistic fibre or coherent goal.

No. Unfortunately, as you may be aware: people.

There’s a moral signal that most of the Epstein emailers may miss tho.

The UX/AI design is finally deflated that it could be doable even by the un-funded startup. The business model design is such that … when I squint … you’d get a better return on capital running a bar.

So, as it is written in the Epistle of Saint Thiel to the Foundericans, the segment must suffer.

Maybe OTP or CPP funds the pipelines and takes the hit on the amortization. Or, y’know, Alberta could make the turn before hand? But it’s hard because of the identity thing. It’s like asking Newfoundland to get off cod in 1988.

Cod was an identity.

In the Canadian context, YVR, YYZ and YUL have heard from YYC and YEG that they aren’t ready to transition from hydrocarbons, preferring a life of CAPPtivity. OK. Defer the hard turn for another generation. glhf.
