Maybe it wasn't the actual Rolex you wanted, but the ability to have one within your reach? And you got there, so the physical object isn't necessary to have anymore as the physical representation of your dream?

People who are not me have compared the novel to Alix E. Harrow, Ava Reid, V. E. Schwab and Emma Törzs.

I compare it to drinking a lot of red wine and having a disaster relationship crash-out while your life is falling to pieces but also magic happens.
