(She/her) I do development work in Mexico and write on science, faith, the Bible, and linguistics. I am only a serious person part-time.
Kristi Noem was busy yesterday directing her fascist propaganda piece and this morning she's throwing a little release party on X, bragging about state sanctioned terrorism and threatening Chicago with more of the same.

Demand accountability from IL government. It's not good enough to hold press conferences expressing concern and tweet snark about federal leaders. You said you would protect IL residents and yet state police were collaborating with the fascists this morning.

The chief of the Cherokee Nation responds to Ann Coulter publicly regretting that the Turtle Island Genocide was not extensive enough.

Someone on Threads got me this fact check:

I came on Blusky to find the @masonmennenga.bsky.social post about "The Bunny." Where is it?

If William Wolfe is trying to cancel you, you know you are doing something right! This is high praise for Emily McGowan, go follow her on Threads. She is one of my favorite Wheaton prof follows of all time.

I hope Wheaton College is savvy enough to know it should lean into these Christian Nationalist attempts to cancel them. They need to validate and applaud the bold Christian witness of their faculty and recognize that this kind of negative press from the dregs of X is actually a ringing endorsement

Thinking about periods was so scarring to Eric 20 years ago, he's bringing up a professor's subtle challenge of menstrual taboos as "a reflection of apostatizing trends" at Wheaton. Why are these guys so weird? www.christianpost.com/news/wheaton...
February 22, 2025 at 4:50 AM
ForWheaton, what are you doing name dropping Philip Yancey? He's not on your team. Our BioLogos Curriculum discusses the realities of climate change, human evolution, race as a social construct, the complexities of biological sex and intersex conditions, reproductive technologies, & why reject ID.

Hey, ForWheaton, the Arthur Holmes that told students to vote Democrat for Mondale and Ferraro in 1984? It's a myth that Wheaton College has always been universally conservative. www.facebook.com/share/p/1BgJ...

Wheaton obviously still needs some phone calls and e-mails if this is what they're telling FOX. I read all the comments at midnight Friday. What I saw were alumni whose lives and communities had been personally affected by Vought's EOs telling the college that being proud of him was a disgrace.
February 10, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Eric Teetsel is quoted in the article and, wow, did he have some thought-provoking and mature contributions to the discourse on the Wheaton FB page last night.
February 8, 2025 at 10:07 PM
Good job, Wheaton. Your alumni do not approve of congratulating the friends of Nazi-adjacent billionaires who are directly responsible for the destruction of democracy and ushering in the most devastating mass oppression of vulnerable people in my lifetime.

From the Wheaton Record, when he ran (and lost) for student government. The bad vibes were there all along.

Eric Teetsel, former VP of Gov Relations for the Heritage Foundation and now VP of Center for Renewing America is a Wheaton alum too. He's really taking all the alumni vitriol directed at his bud Ross like a man.
February 8, 2025 at 2:50 PM
If there are any Wheaton alumni reading this, please go find Wheaton's Facebook post congratulating Russ Vaught and tell them how embarrassing and disgraceful it is.

Someone dug up an old Record article. I guess that's his wannabe Dark Lord pose. (middle in the white shirt)

I would like to point out that the CEO of e.l.f. was born in Kenya to Indian parents and is an immigrant to the U.S. (Lived experience matters and that's why we need more women and non-white voices in leadership.) Thanks for taking a moral stand against this anti-DEI nonsense, Tarang Amin.
