Looks like I’m heading in the right direction. This seems like the only viable solution to me until the protocol is expanded further, multiple users maintaining a single did with permissions etc.
If I had to hack my way around it I would do this:
1. Every subreddit is a repo
2. Use a mod lexicon in that repo to assign mods, roles, and rules.
3. Membership stored in the users repo
4. In case of repo del give users the option to submit posts to another repo, votes and comments transfer over.
