It’s done the usual thing of combining fraud (which definitely must be investigated and stopped) with error, which is far more common and far more complicated. Error needs to be detected and sorted out.
Treating error as fraud mostly leads to loads of extra costs and many other problems.

On my way to the station on Thursday, I missed two buses because they both pulled away from the stops ahead of time. It’s extra galling when the indicator announces the bus as “due” when it’s already gone.

You’ve reminded me that two major employers* were offline earlier this year due to cyberattacks, and recently we had dozens offline due to an Amazon Web Services outage.
*Co-op and Marks and Spencer.
Plus: power cut that took out Spain and Portugal. They never expected that either.

It is indeed. I happen to really like them but definitely strange.
A friend used to work for Cadbury - he said they were really good originally but got “value engineered” into the oddity they are today.
I don’t exactly know why I like them, I just do.
