There's an old interview with "founders of cybernetics" Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead by Stewart Brand (actually discussed at some length by Hayles after a quick check, but not this specific part) with this part I always remember:

A line chart tracking Jakiro's pick/ban rate in professional Dota games over time, by patch, starting from 7.0 (Dec 2016). Averaging under 10%, Jakiro's current rate is nearly 75%, dwarfing the previous peak of 40% in 2018.
