I’ve lived a long time; it’s all still a mystery to me. Teaching others how to work for social justice, spiritual peace, and a flourishing world. Sociologist and scholar of religion. This is a personal account, you might see cat and garden photos.
This makes me feel sick. How could we possibly have gotten to the point where our Supreme Court supports people having no food? I am just crushed and I have food. I can’t even imagine how this feels to the millions of Americans who work so hard for their families and then get slapped in the face.

Nice work Governor on Newsom’s part. I can only imagine how time consuming and confusing the information that trickled in was for everyone involved in the decision. I’m glad he made a decision that kept Californians safe.

Understatement of the year award goes to my husband who said, “that’s peculiar”.

Setting cynicism and religious hurt and harm aside, this moment seemed to me to have happened in a true collaboration of faith and hope for a better world.

I lost my mom 2 years ago in September, on my birthday of all things. I hear you and am with you on how we still can be surprised, almost out of nowhere, with waves of grief. I am sorry that you are struggling.

I’m so sorry you are worried too. It is horrifying to know our Supreme Court ruled that it is legal to allow suspicion solely based on ethnicity and no due process. The violation of rights is cruel and immoral.

I worry about my sons every day. It is horrifying to know that they legally can be grabbed, beaten, thrown to the ground, and be detained as U.S. citizens. I can’t imagine the horror of parents whose children endure all that, and worse, and then deportation to prison in a place they’ve never been.

My first thought as well.

Thank you AG Nessel! I am appreciative of all you are doing to advocate for Michiganders and the rest of the country benefits from rulings on your cases as well.
