Did the Detroit News give ICE their next mission?
So you’re telling me that when your country welcomes talented people from around the globe, and brings them together in world-class universities, they make discoveries that save lives? Interesting.

The SOTU speech is going to be one for the ages. In the middle of a meandering stream of grievances and lies, it’ll be a reverse of the Lincoln 2nd inaugural: “with charity for none, with malice toward all” levels of evil.

“Who will speak for the cruel abusers of human rights?”
The New York Times updated their story with a statement from Bari Weiss:

While I’m not a fan of making the ACA’s structural failures a burden on people, I do believe the other villains in this play are the insurance companies. There is no math that explains the level of subsidies they’ve consumed without reference to profits and “shareholder value”.

As new Epstein files are released, keep in mind that in his first term, Trump ate, flushed, and stole documents, and his Chief of Staff burned them in the White House fireplace.

They will prop him up but I think he’s done by March/April. The end will be rapid and dangerous.

President Vance is going to suck nearly as much.

“Local boy could put butts in seats.” Will they bring him back? This would go a long way to cover missing out on Schwarber! #cincinnatireds

Ubiquitous media becomes a force multiplier of these psychological shortcomings, which Thompson only had to deal with via radio and print.

The bigger gap to me is the tacit “Nazi” enabler who neither approves or participates, but is tired or distracted or otherwise apathetic.
Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.

Initially more of an embarrassment but has now become a full blown emergency.
It's so weird that the mafia family running the United States is less "Al Capone" and more "untalented, stupid, cowardly man with crippling physical and cognitive defects."

Bold choice, MAGA Mafia.

We have the worst gangsters.
This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

So his hands are pretty fragile. Concerning!
Q: Can you explain what's going on with the bandages on Trump's hand?

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.

I loved the film.

The Ladies Man, for the same reason I’ll never read Gravity’s Rainbow again.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

We have decided, as a family, that this holiday season we will give each other gaudy trophies, costume jewelry medallions, and framed certificates for our annual Kinship Appreciation and Mollification Awards.

We need some categories. No one wants a peace prize.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

If your local government wants to make homelessness illegal then it should provide homes for everyone. It’ll save a bunch of money versus prosecuting and jailing people. And it will help keep people out of the EDs.
