Your mind is software. Program it. Your body is a shell. Change it.
It's pretty fun and gets you in a similar but different mindset than Factorio but also yes I get scared by the time it's gonna eat away so I always give up around mid-game

The moment they acquired the Ultima franchise, everything went awry, getting us into the bad timeline

OTOH there's a form of cynicism in those that doesn't lend to thinking you can actually build enduring freedom. At some point things will decay and power hungry lords will take over and corrupt themselves and the world

I think Dark Souls/Elden Ring kinda toy with that with the gods and kings being propagandists and humanity having the potential to surpass them if only they broke their shackles. An ending in ER is basically about giving up faith to embrace uncertainty, metaphorically going to space in the process

The end of S4 gets a honorary Arrival award but also it's one of the umpteenth times the Fate of Everything is in the balance for a modern Trek. Space utopia or not, I don't think I would sleep well if the apocalypse was always a few months away depending on a series of flukes

Why did that end? What brought about 'the Great Downzoning'?

Samuel Hughes evaluates the theories in a great new piece for Works in Progress.

The Great Downzoning - Works in Progress Magazine
It was once legal to build almost anything, anywhere. Then, in the space of a few decades, nearly every city in the West banned densification.

Can't you just exclude that source in particular? With training using more and more synthetic data too it seems like Musk would be wasting his time.

The goal here may be plainly an attempt to replace Wikipedia because it doesn't say Musk is a Tesla founder

And The Left itself was wildly complicit, enthusiastic about poisoning itself. There was the embrace of pseudoscience shit like Lysenkoism that drove out any real scientists. But mostly the left did what it always does: throw away any consistent values for the sake of expanding its coalition.
