Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Digging out my notes made over the past 15 years would take time & I'm sure there's an element of conspiracy to it. But: just Google about the individual tech bro beliefs, then Google about who they fund - and I think Torres is right to be making some noise.
