Ah, yeah you can see the difference between the 1st and 2nd photos of those roundhouses before the slots were dug.

What's the area of darker ground around the two roundhouses to the right of the photo?

It was a sense of mild panic over here! (Thankfully, it's back online now!)

There's a plain slab similar to that inside Tideswell church. The story goes that a chap was spotted next to the slab, and when questioned, he said he was researching his family tree, and an ancestor had requested to be buried here under a simple slab. Before then, nobody had a clue about it.

As I virtually wander across the country, exploring LiDAR data, old maps, and aerial photos, I'm always reminded on how lucky we are in Derbyshire to have such a fantastic HER, with tons of detail and plenty of attached reports to listings. #Derbyshire #archaeology #heritage

Yeah, it's certainly not the money that's the driver for all of this. I've had so much fun this year getting involved with various digs, projects, short course, and a range of organisations. Still no idea where I'm heading, but definitely enjoying the journey!

All kinds, really. But it was a light-hearted statement, as most have been really supportive and helpful after the initial "Are you bonkers?" look.

Thanks! The amount of quizzical looks I get from archaeologists when they hear that I'm trying to pivot to a career in archaeology in my mid-40's has made me question it a few times. But landscape archaeology is definitely some sort of addiction!

Same here! At a dig this summer, the archaeologist was showing me the plough marks in the section, and I was convinced she was joking.
