Another Monday finished and I did just enough where it does not feel like a completely wasted day. And when I write this sentence I realize I need to do a better job at counting my accomplishments rather than being irritated by the things that did NOT happen.

Currently reading The Golden Age from James Robinson, Paul Smith, and Richard Ory! I love this history of DC Comics. It's interesting, I think as you get older you tend to appreciate this period more. If it weren't for creators like the above, these obscure characters might be forgotten. #comicsky

Sundays are odd. I get a lot of energy by planning out the week and getting myself organized. But one evening arrives I get hit with Sunday anxiety with thoughts that I'm going to fail at every single thing I've set out to do. So strange.

Currently reading Iron Man Issue 136! Continuing the David Michelinie and Bob Layton run (though BL only did the cover on this one). Also grabbed the UK variant. With many comics in the UK being published in black and white at the time, "all-colour" was a selling point. Cheerio. #comicsky

Currently reading Fantastic Four Issue 258! I'm enjoying John Byrne's famous run for the first time and it's a really fun issue. And an all Doom issue! Which was needed since a lot was happening and the FF needed a breather...plus Doom really needed an issue for himself—ARRRGGG

Halfway through the week and I am in the middle of a lot of things. It’s days like this I feel like I did a lot but nothing is close to being done. Arrg.

Currently reading The Last American by Alan Grant, John Wagner and Mike McMahon! I do wonder if reading this now makes it that more disturbing but it's a reminder that America, my old home, has always been controversial in ways. We need art and voices like this now more than ever. #comicsky

BANG BANG! Or is it PHEW PHEW! Or maybe ZAP ZAP! I haven’t quite decided yet.

Currently reading Justice League of America Issue 59! But wait a second...I can't be reading this...it's impossible! #comicsky

Today I was thinking about how long I have lived in the Netherlands...15 years. Sometimes I feel I don't really belong to either side...when I'm in the US I feel European and when I'm here I feel American. It's a weird, awkward existence and difficult to reconcile at times.

Currently reading The Incredible Hulk Issue 25! And holy $#@%! This is my favorite issues in the series. Nic Klein flexes hard and the book is absolutely gorgeous. PKJ moves things forward with a tight script and drops a huge plot twist. No wonder this thing continued with Infernal Hulk. #comicsky

It’s a weird time. On one hand I realized today that my mental health in January has started off stronger than usual. On the other, the whole world is on fire. And we’re 9 days into 2026.

Currently reading Judge Dredd The Complete Case Files 22! As a 2000ad subscriber I get a yearly voucher for 50% off the 2000ad shop and I always buy a stack of these. I am ALMOST halfway through and it’s been a joy discovering all the wonderful creators who tackled ole Stoney Face. #comicsky

Sometimes friendships come from the most unexpected places. When you are at your lowest and are getting blasted by space pirates, reach out your hand. You might be surprised on who will grasp it and give you covering fire.

Currently reading One World Under Doom Issue 4 that I finished collecting. I used TFAW for my pull list and when they stopped international deliveries I lost a lot of books. I met Ryan North at a comic con in Utrecht and he told me there’s a big surprise in issue 8. So I can finally experience it!

2026 is starting off with a bang.
2000AD has sprung into 2026 with a big new Judge Dredd story from his co-creator, John Wagner and ace artist Mike Perkins. The ominous "Death of a Judge" begins this week, which may well be Wagner's final time writing Dredd

I'm not sure how long it's been since we had snow like this in the Netherlands. I want to say five years or so. But when the snow does come it makes me calm. I think it's because it forces everyone to slow down, myself included, whether I like it or not.

Planeteer Alert! Currently reading Captain Planet Issue 4! With the Diamond shenanigans all the non-big three stuff deliveries were disrupted over here in the Netherlands so had to slowly fill in some gaps. But I was able to grab this cool cover from Ben Oliver. 🌍

Sometimes we are thrown in a situation and we have no choice but to lead. The burden we carry can make our appearance battle-worn. These are not scars, nor are they wrinkles etched by time but they are simply perseverance—carried forward.
