All of which makes total sense. AND, sometimes, I think there may be some revisionism going on.

I sometimes get the sense that there are some artists who, over time, do not want songs to be specifically associated with '60s era stuff. For any number of good reasons! They come to see them more broadly. They don't want to be chained to history. Or maybe their own views have changed.

I was suprised to hear on @500songspodcast.bsky.social that Run Through the Jungle was not connected to the war (then again, I have zero CCR knowledge beyond the recordings themselves)

Folks I saw it with felt bad for the actor who played Landau’s wife, whose sole function was to be talked at. Literally. I don’t think she was called on to do anything. Felt like she was a stand in for the audience.
