#Doodleish no:9  'Negative space'.

🧵A compositional task that focuses on empty space around your image to enhance its effect. E.G: emphasizing a large empty room or as the example, a large open empty outdoor space. Have a go. It can be anything. Over to @jennispangler.bsky.social

Here I am with today's #Doodleish no 7 : season 2.
Illustrated song lyrics. Make it as simple /complex as you wish. Just draw out the words &/or, add more arty content. Here's one (with rough ideas) & some that I did ages ago.
@jennispangler.bsky.social will respond with hers also...

Doodleish season 2
Prompt: 5
I've always loved illustrated envelopes so I thought we could have a go. You can use an actual envelope if you like. I've drawn mine on the page. Have fun. 'Send it/them' to whoever you want... @jennispangler.bsky.social will respond as always...

On the way back from my writing conference, #doodleish prompt 2 with my TWSBI Swipe fountain pen, a highlighter and a bit of pencil for the layout. Ink is Diamine Ancient Copper.

Interesting thinking about books that influenced me in context of all the writing workshops I just finished.

#doodleish prompt 4:
All the children’s books last week made me nostalgic, so let’s go back to basics with our ABCs!
Instead of A is for apple, B is for ball, create your own alphabet chart with any theme.
I’ve done a gothic ABC (of course…)
What’ve you got @chrismouldink?

Doodleish No:3 (season 2)
Firstly, sketch an everyday object (in my case, a teacup), then use your imagination to have fun with your subject matter. It can be anything. No constraints. Turn it into a character, simplify it, decorate it, etc. @jennispangler.bsky.social will respond below...

Jenni's version of today's doodleish prompt. I love that she's in an old pottery factory and I'm in an old carpet factory. P.S. You don't need to draw an old factory.
Here’s my response - my beautiful, half-ruins, historical pottery factory (or ‘potbank’ to use proper Stoke on Trent lingo).

I love that it’s got 250 years of architectural styles jumbled together. Tried to capture the vibe of the place.

Doodleish No: 1 (season2)
With me n' @jennispangler.bsky.social

Nice and steady to start with, working inside small squares/ rectangles. It’s a gentle way
back onto the page without committing to a large / full or finished image. 🧵1/2
