An idea: UBI+JG. The SOEs staffed by the JG produce the basket of goods and services necessary to dignified material existence and participation in society, priced so that the whole basket costs the UBI. The UBI is fully taxed away by progressive income tax by the time you get to 1.5x median income.

A bunch of commentators are busy qualifying this like “well what if it’s fake” and I submit to you that’s the whole problem, piles of piles of evidence exist on every vector and the reflex is to let him of the hook like “well what would constitute PROOF”
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Pure fanaticism, just objectively bad policy especially while building all these new data centers. But also an opportunity for Democrats to say loudly, over and over again, that Trump and Republicans are making everything more expensive. Higher electricity costs impact everything.

One key piece that hasn't been discussed: DHS didn't just decline to comment, they explicitly referred all questions to El Salvador.

watching the CECOT 60 Minutes segment that CBS suppressed, it’s striking that Weiss specifically called out as unnecessary some of the most rigorous investigative work in the segment, including an explanation of how it was done (by human rights researchers)

"US net exports of O&G are good for decarb, particularly if we redistribute producer earnings and invest in clean energy + electrification"

Treating this unsubstantiated and, frankly, insane claim as straightforwardly factual is extremely bad intellectual practice.
The @seancasten.bsky.social thread on @mattyglesias.bsky.social's O&G article gets basic stuff wrong.
- "keep it in the ground" is an outcome, not a strategy
- US net exports of O&G are good for decarb, particularly if we redistribute producer earnings and invest in clean energy + electrification

Cully Stimson is one of the few people who *didn’t* resign from the Heritage Foundation today. He now heads up their legal division.

In 2007, Stimson had to resign from the Pentagon after threatening law firms with retaliation for representing Gitmo prisoners pro bono.

How quaint!

Honestly sick of people telling me they "have to" stay on X "for the reach."

"It's where the people I need to reach are." No, it's not. You can bring them here.

"The people I want to follow are there." You can bring them here too.

Lots of other people have. You can too.
This has always been a Bluesky-first campaign. But as of today, we will no longer be using Twitter. At all.

And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.

really cannot be emphasized enough that bari weiss has literally never done journalism. i don’t mean that in the pejorative sense. i mean that in the “has never performed the job she was hired to do” sense
One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself
