Damn fine crop of nominees.
Netflix greenlights good, even great, films. But they're also so historically opposed to theatrical and so bad about curation and marketing that gets those films in front of people.

Netflix greenlights good, even great, films. But they're also so historically opposed to theatrical and so bad about curation and marketing that gets those films in front of people.
Do you believe Netflix will honor theatrical releases beyond what's already contractually promised and maybe a handful of big events? Netflix wouldn't have given SINNERS or ONE BATTLE the theatrical push those movies got. It's another step in viewing art as "content." Also, the TCM of it all.
