The issue with this analogy is that the guy claiming that the USA has stage 4 cancer is essentially a faith healer. Not only is he lying to you, but he has no interest in curing you and is focused exclusively on making himself and his fellow charlatans richer.

I grew up in Melbourne in the 80s and went to a Catholic school. Was utterly clueless as to why once a year we were taken to mass to “celebrate” Ash Wednesday. Remember thinking it was kinda tasteless. 😳
