With internal monologues being a bit louder. It's not much but it likely helps create a more room filling sound. It wouldn't be something I'd notice if I was watching on my 5.1 setup, but I think it's an indication that they did a good job with the mix imo. It's what made me seek out the ADV DVD set

Fun fact, did you know that the ADV DVD release of Azumanga Dioh presented the English dub in 5.1 surround sound? Well, it did and it's neat to see what they did for the rear channels. It mostly mirrors the music into the rears, but also dialogue with some added reverb.

I love putting together movie nights in VRC. Mainly because I just love prepping a file from my own collection, and I get to add stuff to it.

I made my account back in 2014, and the first thing I played was Portal First Slice. And because why not, here's the first few purchases on my account, all of which I had asked my dad to buy for me since I was a teenager without a job.

Sometimes I remember this game from my childhood, mainly because the game had songs like Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite in its sound test and I listened to it more than I actually played the game.

Yeah, it's really neat to see. Especially in 3D. I've seen it in VR on a giant screen in VR Chat and it's just so cool. Images 2 and 3 are in a VR Chat world called Stabby Cinema. And this has become my go to way of watching movies (especially when hosting movie nights)

I think it's just that you can sign into GOG with your Xbox account, and GOG Galaxy (their launcher which tries to have everything) will see stats from your Xbox account like how long you played a game, and when you last played it.

So here's something kinda neat, I found out that for the German dub of Atlantis The Lost Empire, they had the German VAs rerecord all the spoken Atlantian. It's not gibberish, it's an actual constructed language you can learn if you wanted to.

I'm looking at the original 4k file and Jesus a couple of these audio tracks are really bad. The DTS 5.1 Track is missing the center, subwoofer, and rear channels. You just get the two front stereo channels, which means you only get echoes of the dialogue.

Seriously, this shit pissed me off the most. Film is a real thing, if you have access to the negative, you can scan that.

I will say, people seem to be clowning on there being a fork in the yellow brick road. But it was there in the original. The AI expansion looks like shit, but we should be clowning on it for the right reasons. This video is taken from my own rip of the 3D conversion. It's what I had on my PC.

Now here's that same shot from the 3D version. A version of the movie that while yes, was converted from 2D, was also still made by humans and stereo artists. This conversion was made by Prime Focus World, who would later change their name to DNEG. The depth in this shot is really well done.
