So, what I take from this COP is most of the Global South, China and few northern allies are going to keep dragging progress forward, while the #petrostates drag their feet until their economies are literally hauled right out from underneath them by #electrotech www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I apologize, but in this line of work you need to take advantage of every line of amusement, & John's insightful WEO solar diagram ... has a hat on it. Also, I like to compare it to Shell's 2018 SKY scenario for primary energy, where the inflection point on solar doesn't happen until the 2050s. ?

Apropos of nothing, Stalin purged the Red Army officer ranks through the general staff just before Nazi Germany invaded, and it almost cost the world … civilization.

You've entered a new level of geekiness when you want to live watch a Canadian budget.

So, I’m Canadian and not intimately familiar with US governance, but don’t the Republicans majority control the House & Senate?

So is Canada a #petrostate, doomed to be a long run rustbelt, or an #electrostate rising into the future? Maybe it's a choice between two states of mind, vision, planning & governance. Can we go our own "Norway"? See our essay, p73 of the global DDP report. ddpinitiative.org/wp-content/u...

I'd wager anyone in that room is more qualified to be Secretary of Defence, and better understands the threat multiplier implications of climate change. Security think tanks have been thinking about it since the 1970s, & the Pentagon formally since the 1990s.

One of the things we may have to start doing is stop referring to labour as blue and white collar. Everybody works with technology now, which determines productivity and wages. Outmoded class distinctions don’t help fortune.com/2025/09/29/f...
