Just want to say that Tropa De Elite 2 is a criminally underrated film.

Didn’t grow up in CO but have lived here for a while. I’d submit the the green chili smothered burrito as our preferred slip plate.

China built 250 GW of solar in the first half of 2025. For reference, the US has a total grid nameplate capacity of 1,280 GW. In 6 months, China built 1/6 of the US grid just in solar. This doesn’t include all of the capacity additions from wind, hydro and the transmission build out.

Just got a Sony RX 100 VII, which absolutely whips!

It’s been a few years since I lived in DC - do they still have the late night happy hour menu? Used to love the chicken and the tornado potato.

Thanks for the work that you, @jessedjenkins.com and the rest of the @heatmap.news team are doing. My team is looking at some RE procurement options and I found myself repeating some of the points mentioned in today’s pod while speaking with some non-sustainability stakeholders.

I took a Spanish and Latin American Horror Cinema elective at Oberlin that was without a doubt my favorite class. Watching a bunch of niche genre films from around the Spanish speaking world and analyzing them was fun but also very insightful about the legacy of violence and imperialism!

Lonesome Dove might fit the bill - it’s like Blood Meridian without a personality disorder.

Also my cynical read is that the public lands sell-off proposals were just distractions to hide the other horrific elements of the bill. By backing off of the most broadly unpopular aspect, senate R’s have been able to launder the other insane and self-defeating pieces of the bbb.

My wife is doing her MBA at INSEAD, which is in the town of Fontainbleu 40 min outside of Paris. It’s such a delightful small town with everything needed right there, a very functional bus system and easy transit connections to Paris. It’s so much more pleasant than our sprawling suburbs and exurbs.

It’s not much but it’s honest work

In his defense, it would be really terrible if a platypus destroyed the Instanbul of America.

Well take all the upshifts that we can

I’m long CoM as well - it’s disturbing, intensely watchable, and does a tremendous job of showing nihilism at the root of fascism.

Sens. Hickenlooper and Bennet just received calls demanding this. The time for go along get along politics are over.
June 12, 2025 at 10:32 PM
Do you and @robinsonmeyer.bsky.social play rock paper scissors to determine who gets to deliver the increasingly infrequent upshifts?
June 10, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Sounds like this week’s upshift!
