If it helps, it’s over three different accounts

Very proud to pay my taxes so our esteemed national broadcaster can do important journalism like Pauline Hanson cooks Barnaby Joyce steaks on a sandwich press

I joined the Vooks discord and within a month I was begging Vook to let me write for him.

Almost 9 years later he’s one of the people I trust most in the world, one of my closest friends, and basically everything I have in life I owe to him and his guidance and influence.

Funny how life works.

Fun fact, my first real interaction with Vooks was seeing @vook64.bsky.social pop up on the twitter algo often and getting annoyed by him. I don’t really know why, something about him just rubbed me the wrong way.

One day, I went to block him, but clicked on his site instead and loved it.

Likewise! It’s a slog and absolutely soul sucking, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed you find something good for you soon

As an aside, if anyone is interested in visiting China, Hangzhou was incredible and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a little bit out of the way compared to some other places in China, but it’s incredibly beautiful, very peaceful, and everyone was extremely friendly. I can’t wait to go back.

Nintendo is frustratingly quite behind in accessibility. The new Kirby game is the first game I’ve seen from them that has what I’d call actual accessibility settings beyond a single colour toggle in Splatoon (that was broken in Splatoon 3 for a year)

Hell yeah

Maybe it was a performance trick? Like, it blurs the edges more when the console is more constrained, and with the overhead of the Switch 2 it’s always at the minimum. I have no idea, it’s super weird but the blur is extremely minimal on Switch 2 across both games

Both games! I have no idea why

If it helps, for whatever reason the distance blur effect is super toned down on Switch 2, so it might be worth trying a revisit in the future? It’s still there, just a lot less of it

(I’m also prone to motion sickness in games, I feel your pain)
