Not sure why you're mad at the commentors when the article itself failed to distinguish genAI/LLM and properly programmed ML tools.
If you're frustrated that people are making a false equivalency then get mad at the boosters and media that are pushing the false equivalency in the first place!

there's a lot to hate about it but the thing that makes me the most mad is that it no way differentiates itself or even contrasts with the message of the Republican party. If anything it stands with them in order to draw a line against the left!

Preaching to the choir, I'm just trying to get older Democrats who don't understand this to think about how if they recognize the difference between right and wrong now then they should be able to recognize right and wrong before Trump. Hopefully then they'll be able to recognize it AFTER Trump

We didn't get to where we are out of thin air. There is an entire history of bad choices we made as a country and Trump is just one (of likely many more to come) to take advantage of the broken system we built. The system does harm no matter who is in power.
