I’m surprisingly good with yeasted things it’s more pastries & decorating I struggle with & it drives me nuts b/c I’m obsessive about symmetry & neatness 😩

I’ve managed stuff like cinnamon rolls & bread loaves pretty easily but round stuff that needs rolling always gets me. Our kitchen table is unfortunately not sturdy at all but that’s also worth a shot!!

I did this with the ice water as well! We just don’t have a good surface area for rolling but I’m bad at anything that needs to be (relatively) round & flat. I have saved this thread so I can use it later. Maybe I will try again this Xmas & report back the results!!

it's a combo of chemistry & me having poor dexterity, probably. i made progress the last time i attempted one using my food processor & cold butter & water but rolled it too thin, then panicked as it warmed up!! bottom did not hold 😣

aside from a sourdough it's prolly the only thing i havent done!!

i was genuinely good at rolls! i did these a few years back & i kinda miss it but also holiday baking is a pain

it's true but i'm one of those cooks/bakers who pointlessly, & compulsively feels the need to do things the harder way 90% of the time

i actually wanted to make that one year but i royally fuck up every pie crust i attempt so it went on the backburner & never re-entered the rotation
