Considering the goal of public health leaders has been to make COVID endemic, this would be a great time for them to explain why that's a good thing.
Were they just trying to get it everywhere so they could use that as an excuse for failing to do anything, or is there some sort of plan here?

Transphobia is a lot of things. One - ONE OF A NUMBER - is a jangling set of keys, desperately shaken at the most hateful people, to keep them from paying attention to boring ol' climate change.

So many takes about Democrats being cowards, or stupid, or naive, or whatever. They’re bought. Everything they do makes sense if you stop assuming they’re representative of anyone but a few big donors.

We understand how the Senate works, and we demand that it work differently. Senators are not helpless cogs in a faceless machine -- they are the machine.

They're like when I used to play softball in gym class. I'd lurk way back in the outfield so I'd never have to be near the ball and be pressured to actually play. Plenty of Dems are just trying to avoid the ball.

One thing I like about reading fiction is that it can quietly challenge my preconceived ideas about other people.

The storied choice between socialism and barbarism was made exquisitely clear a good many years ago in the United States, and both major parties chose barbarism. 🫠

If we want to build something better, I think a good first step would be to reverse Citizens United, followed by rigorous uprooting of regulatory capture. Until we dam that flood, we're not going to make much headway in building an inclusive, healthy, and thriving society.
