NEW: The U.S. announced a US$330-million sale of aircraft parts to Taiwan for F-16 fighters, C-130 transport aircraft, and F-CK-1 fighters on 11/13.

This arms sale is the first of the second Trump administration. The DSCA notified Congress of the sale after the State Department approved it.

The Taiwan Navy Anti-Submarine Aviation Command saw three safety incidents, two whistleblowers say.

In August, a pilot was intoxicated on standby.

In September, another pilot flew without medical clearance, and a third pilot left the cockpit while flying.

Beginning in 2026, the Taiwan Navy will spend US$314 million across four years on building ammunition storage and maintenance facilities for anti-ship missiles.

The Navy’s Littoral Combat Command will begin operations on January 1, 2026, which includes missile boats and land-based AShMs.

10 F-16C/D Block 70 fighters will complete assembly at the earliest by the end of the year and will start arriving in Taiwan by 2026, Taiwan's defense minister Wellington Koo tells the Legislative Yuan.

"[Place] has [resource]" is a very medieval, reductionist, and anti-intellectual way of viewing foreign policy and war.

Resources are also not always zero-sum, and war is probably the least cost-effective way to access the resources, especially in the post-1945 world.
