Maybe I'm just delusional but I feel like this Pokémon has a lot of appeal but, for some reason, didn't stick, and I blame TPC because they just didn't really push it very much, and timing was weird. It was a post-game event-distribution 'mon late into Alola's run (2018-19) for UltraSun & UltraMoon.

The most promotion it got was being in one of the last Pokémon movies, but it was overshadowed by literally everything else happening in the movie.

Oh, I don't get it or condone it at all. I'm just speculating that maybe that's what's driving Disney to make all of these movies. Disney fans will watch whatever they put out, but how can you pull in people who won't watch their animated movies? Remove the "animated" part. 🤷
