I've been sober for 20 years (21 coming up in January). Every now and then I think "urh, why did I get sober". Occasionally I get given a drug during medical procedures which is necessary, but my gods is it a reminder why I quit doing this shit to myself.

Facebook post by Charl Landsberg: Right. So history lesson with Charl. How do you determine if someone is transgender? You have to do gender tests! What's the problem with gender tests, you ask? They don't work, because gender AND SEX are socially constructed and nobody, not even cisgender people fit into neat little boxes no matter how much conservatives with Facebook degrees scream "male = xy and female = xx" because that's not how sex or gender works. For one: Ewa Kłobukowska who failed a gender test in 1966 and was disqualified from the Olympics. Oh but guess what? She's a cisgender woman. Gave birth to a child and everything. (Note, the Olympics organizers never apologized to her or reinstated her awards or accolades.) But the Olympics are bringing gender testing back? Something that was thrown out the window in the first place because a whole lot of cisgender people got some "nasty"* surprises about their genotypes? A test that has historically been weaponized against black athletes especially cisgender black women? Again, nobody learns a fucking thing because everybody is so busy listening to the loudest fucking bigots in the room instead of listening to actual fucking scientists or gods forbid actual trans people? But again, cisgender people, especially you cisgender woman hiding behind this, you are not immune from this bullshit. A politician, a loud media mogul, a career dickhead all needs but point a finger in your direction and yell 'trans' and your career is over. And don't tell anybody that trans people didn't warn you. *There's nothing wrong with being intersex or having sexual variation, it's natural, but it gets stigmatized alongside trans people.
