“One half of my heart is Erin's, and the other half is America's. God bless America, and ever preserve her the asylum of all the oppressed of the earth, is the sincere prayer of my heart” - M. Corcoran
Yeah, that much crazy is going to have a powerful carryover effect.

I agree with everything you said about it being mostly stolen valor! Wasn’t trying to dispute that - I just meant there are still a lot of people out there who know they have ADHD but don’t even know the next step.

Wasn’t Heinlein in his 50’s when he was writing about that?

To be fair, I was diagnosed by a doc as an adult and didn’t seek out treatment (but it’s getting worse, so I will be)

I love social media fights about food though. As long as they’re low stakes and fun, which most of these are.

I love pies, but mostly as a side to ice cream.

But a key lime or lemon meringue pie is a top tier dessert.

My oldest daughter loves space, so we actually own a children’s book written by Scott. It’s bizarre to see Mark Kelly out there now, in my head they’re historical figures not real people.

Isn't cheesecake a pie, anyway? It's in a pie crust, there's nothing cake-like about it except the name.

Not all - Larry Hogan sucks, but he (and MD R's more broadly) are much more moderate than the ones over in Virginia, who are absolutely bat-shit insane. VT and MA R's are genuinely pretty moderate, NH R's are lunatics, it's a weirdly state by state thing.

I replaced my old phone after 3 years, but the only reason was to give my old one to my daughter. It's still a good phone! My new phone is slightly better than my old one, but I would NEVER have bought it otherwise.

I haven't seen Mike Schur (producer of Good Place, Parks & Rec etc.) on here, and even though I completely disagree, I miss his annual rantings about how fruit pies suck.

Rita Moreno and Daniel Craig star in a Knives Out mystery? I’m in.

Isn’t Bailey the guy that fought to keep people in prison after their convictions were overturned? Give me Patel and some questionable use of SWAT teams any day over that man.

This isn’t even Vance looking to the writing of St Augustine instead of the pope, though. It’s converting to Catholicism and then taking moral authority from someone who isn’t Catholic, who’s never set foot in any Church, and keeps muttering about the Antichrist (despite fitting the role himself)

Pre-pandemic, my job involved flying to customer sites maybe once a month. I've flown to a client site once in the last 5 years, but my colleagues that do CLM (contract lifecycle management) work do it much more frequently, because lawyers still go into the office.

Bari has been an opinion journalist her entire career, the Free Press was primarily opinion journalism with the exception of some (shoddily reported) stories. It's probably not something she even thinks about.

Is that a problem for the person running CBS News? Who knows? (No, and everyone)

I have ADHD and I have this, but I do feel like a lot of ADHD discourse is more about the quirks of the person writing the post than it is about ADHD. So much “I put honey instead of sugar in my coffee, and I’ve found out it’s because of my ADHD”

Ironically, for someone that is more introvert that extrovert I *love* throwing partners, but my ex (who is an extreme extrovert) hated it.

I *loved* the original Star Wars, one of the first movies I can remember watching, and I would watch it. When I watch "A New Hope" with my daughter she's just like "this is boring" and I couldn't actually argue it with her.

You can't expect him to know how cameras work, Hegseth is too busy being a warrior to know anything about unmanly things like makeup and TV production.

I was fine. Really. And then that last line…
