Introduced Wren to one of my hyperfocus today that I've just always kept quiet about. Fountain pens. Showing him Montblancs was probably not nice..
Anyways, I now have a lovely Parker Midnight Astral from a half off sale for Christmas from him and I'm excited to have a new nib to play with.

Wondering if I can apply to work at my local model train shop even if I don't have any real Dutch language. I'll get better with interaction...

Dutch Eggnog which is called Advocaat is not my cup of tea. The brandy in it overpowers everything. Bleh.

Taking a break from reading for the reviews and devoting a couple hours to make up more of the hourglass quilt squares.

Writers!
Our obsession with finding antique typewriters shall soon pay off!

I say while side eyeing all the AI drivel being packed into *everything*.

Don't forget you can read physical books for your research. Your librarians would love you if you did.

I saw this piece at Stedelijk last month. It's massive and the colors here don't do it justice. When I encountered it the word I kept thinking to call it was Effervescent. It reminded me of champagne.

No, I'm not going to waste my time making a booktok account for doing my book reviews. And I'm not messing with Insta or Meta.
I'm keeping it blog style like the early 2000s and that makes me eager to continue. If that means a smaller audience, so be it. I can't compete with the bot farms.

Got no sewing done on the quilt squares.
Did read a book from start to finish.
I'll take that.

Just a reminder,

You don't need a fancy sewing machine to piece or quilt if you've got the patience and physicality to do it by hand.

Still not sold on the patterns, but that's what happens when you buy mystery fabric.

Hoi! Goedemorgen!
Calling all friendly Dutch folk.

Can someone tell me where in the Amsterdam area (Utrecht or Leiden are also valid) I can find a fabric shop that carries quilters cotton? I have a binding I need to replace.

This flu has ended in parosmia. Almost everything edible smells and tastes like cider vinegar. 🤢

This is weird. I don't recommend. It should go away?

Hi, yes, I despise whoever of you told me about the Backrooms.
I absolutely did not need this to turn into my winter hyperfocus. I had wanted guache painting or architecture drawing but nooooo, now I know too much about an alt-dimension haunted magic maze.

Thaaaaanks...

Pain 🧵 and why 1-10 doesn't work.

In 2020 I had an AVM rupture in my brain, resulting in a stroke.

This is often referred to as a suicide headache with good reason. You find your way out with that type of pain.

However.
I had been raised to deeply ignore my pain signals.

Why do I not buy used books anymore but instead digitals when financially used is cheaper?
So that I don't have to pay for square footage a bookshelf would take up. Ie cheaper rent. Maybe it's a wash. But in the Netherlands adults pay for the library. So I'm paying one way or another.

This flu needs to quit already.
I have travel blogs to write up and books to put back up.
Also...I feel like none of the OTC meds I can get in the Netherlands are effective. I miss what I'm used to I guess.

Some content creators have the perfect voice to sleep to and I feel bad that it sounds like an insult but I'm sick and listening to this guy cover the 100 levels of Backrooms lore put me to sleep in less than 5 levels. I woke up to level 28 and am now debating on listening again to get more sleep.

Netherlands flu/covid test is neat. It just checks all of them at once on one strip. I didn't know you could even do that.

And I have flu A.
