have actually never listened to an audio book outside my wife playing Wheel of Time on a road trip. bc audio processing. but hell yeah it is reading. hell yeah. (there was a version of younger me who’d be super opposed to it and i’m so glad i’m not that edgelord anymore)
I don’t know who needs to hear this but listening to an audio book absolutely counts as “reading” a book.

In fact, I’d argue that listening to an author read their own work aloud is an exceptionally magical and even holy experience.

I love it so much. Especially as my eyesight gets worse.

exactly 5% in and wondering if my love of this book’s author and premise is enough to get past the feeling of: why would i immerse my brain in a toxic sewer world whilst living through current toxic sewer world. ☠️

such a real one. we went to the same yoga studio in chicago for awhile and he sometimes took ppl from class out for pancakes after. 🥞 a++ human.
RIP to Jesse Jackson, who in this debate w/David Duke in 1977 delivered (until the host cut him off) a message of unity and against "national isolationism" that's important to hear today. He also ended the show w/one of the sickest burns ever directed at Duke: "You're not even a legitimate Klansman"
